AJ Styles gets a warm welcome back to WWE. He has missed everyone so much. And it is fitting that he is here in Nashville tonight. This is where it all started for AJ Styles. He has done things he has regretted this year, but he is not here to talk about the past. He is here to rebuild the legacy of AJ Styles. There are a lot of guys who don’t like him, and some who need to be reminded that this is the house that AJ Styles built. Carmelo Hayes interrupts him.
He tells AJ that with everything he has done, he is surprised there isn’t a long line of guys to welcome him back. AJ knows who he is. Carmelo has been holding it down on SmackDown while he has been gone. He is a huge fan of his. Carmelo loves old-timers like him. He’s sure he is here to boast about a giant legends contract, but let’s talk about Carmelo for a minute. A guy like him deserves to be the United States Champion.
AJ has been in the ring with LA Knight before, and the guy is relentless. He came to his house, and they had a match at WrestleMania. Hayes does not take advice from quitters. AJ says if Carmelo thinks he’s that good, he would be the US Champion right now. Carmelo says if AJ was so phenomenal, he would be the WWE Champion.
AJ suggests they have a match right now, seeing as they are in their ring gear. Hayes declines… and out comes LA Knight. The US Champion says he isn’t about to pretend he and AJ Styles are friends. Last time he saw him, he made out like he was going to retire, but then he didn’t. If Carmelo thinks he is “him”, he is gonna get stomped out tonight.
The first option is, he basically punches him in the mouth four or five times, and then goes out for a drink and has a good night. Or, if Carmelo can beat AJ right now, LA Knight will make a convincing case to Nick Aldis for him to challenge for the United States title. But the chances are he will get stomped out tonight, and he will head out to Broadway. When AJ Styles is done with him, you’re still going to hear everybody saying LA Knight… Yeah!
#1. Carmelo Hayes vs. AJ Styles – Winner: Carmelo Hayes via referee stoppage
AJ Styles injured his ankle, so the referee had to stop the match. LA Knight appeared from nowhere to hit Hayes with Blunt Force Trauma.
#2. [Dumpster] Michin vs. Chelsea Green – Winner: Michin
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill tell Naomi that they talked to Nick Aldis, and she will host Bad Blood with them tomorrow. Naomi is really happy about that. Next up, Bayley will call out Nia Jax.
Bayley calls out Nia Jax to the ring. The champion appears with Tiffany Statton at her side. Nia Jax tells her to get to the point. Bayley tells her she does not understand the importance of this title. She names all the legends who paved the way while holding that title. And while they were more human, most did not have as dominant of a run as Nia has had. There are two women who could take the title from her tomorrow. Herself, and the second is her old friend Tiffany.
Not because she is good enough, but because of the briefcase. The moment she gets tired, she will hit Nia on the back of the head with the briefcase and cash in that contract. Tiffany asks Bayley what she means when she says she isn’t good enough. She doesn’t need this contract to beat Nia. The champion questions her, so she quickly backtracks and demands Bayley bow down to her queen.
As for Tiffany, she does not respect her. She would rather bow down to a queen than to entertain a stupid b****. This goads Tiffany in to an attempt to hit with the briefcase, but she misses, and Bayley takes out her and Nia Jax. After Bayley leaves, Tiffany recovers and thinks about cashing in, but she doesn’t, and Nia Jax makes her way out of the ring. Naomi enters for her match with Tiffany Stratton.
A smelly and dirty Chelsea Green walks through the backstage area with Piper Niven. Several superstars comment on how terrible she smells while trying not to vomit. Chelsea Green finds Nick Aldis, who makes a few puns about her smell, but she ultimately says nothing and heads for a shower.
