We were supposed to see Cody Rhodes in the main event as part of a six man tag team match, but Nick Aldis tells the champion that the Final Boss has rescheduled and wants to talk to him.
#1. Jimmy Uso vs. Drew McIntyre – Winner: Jimmy Uso
Drew McIntyre beats up Jimmy Uso after the match and yells that he means nothing. Before he can smash his skull against the ring post, officials stop him. Just as it looks as if McIntyre will walk away, he rushes back to the ring to deliver a Claymore to Jimmy. He is happy with that.
Solo Sikoa shows up to talk to Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga. Fatu thinks that he and Tama have ran things on SmackDown enough the past few weeks, so Sikoa should join him in running it down in the main event. Sikoa agrees and goes to find Nick Aldis to confirm the switch.
#2. R-Truth & LA Knight vs. The Miz & Carmelo Hayes – Winner: The Miz & Carmelo Hayes with an assist from Shinsuke Nakamura
Tiffany Stratton says that since she won the title, everyone has been obsessed with her. At the Elimination Chamber, she and Trish Stratus will ensure Nia Jax and Candice LeRae come to an end. But she doesn’t want to talk about them. She wants to talk about Charlotte Flair, who chose her as her WrestleMania opponent.
The rumors are true. No one likes to kick a girl when she is down more than Charlotte Flair. She wants the top spot as the #1 woman in WWE. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae interrupt. Jax thinks it is cute that she thought she was going to win last week. And when they are done destroying her at the Elimination Chamber, she won’t make it to WrestleMania. They are impatient and want to take her out right now, but the referee for the next match steps in their way.
During the next match, Charlotte Flair made her way to ringside to join the commentary team.
#3. Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae (w/ Nia Jax) – Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Nia Jax and Candice LeRae attacks Tiffany afterwards, which brings out Trish Stratus. After getting the upperhand, Nia Jax delivered a very poor and botched Annihilator to both Tiffany and Trish.
We get a fight between Bianca Belair & Naomi against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, with the heels getting the upperhand this time. Following this, we see The Rock driving quickly and parking up outside the venue.
Nick Aldis tells Chelsea Green that she won’t be wrestling at Elimination Chamber, but she will be wrestling on SmackDown next week, and will defend against an interesting opponent.
The Rock is here! The Final Boss makes his way to the ring. He asks if the crowd feels him. They know that on a Friday night that he is dropping some good gospel shit on them tonight. Finally… The Rock has come back to New Orleans. And finally… WrestleMania is coming back to New Orleans. We’re making it official right now, WrestleMania 42 from the Caesars Superdome. He wants to sing the “Saints Go Marching In”, and the crowd can’t sing along.
The Rock calls out Cody Rhodes. The WWE Champion makes his way to the ring. The Rock asks Cody Rhodes how it feels to have everyone love him, and he says it feels good. He says that since WrestleMania, they have become good friends. Back at the Netflix debut, they had a good time together. But he wanted to call him out for something. He is a great champion, and he knows that. The Rock shows a picture of their mothers getting along. He is on the board of TKO and they own WWE. He doesn’t know if he quite owns WWE, but he knows he is the most powerful.
The Rock wants Cody Rhodes to be his champion. Cody Rhodes is flattered, but he motions to the fans and says he is their champion. The Rock is talking about doing more than that and bring even more joy to people around the world. Rock is the most followed American man in the world, and he wants the same for Cody. He wants to open him up to more opportunities. Every dream of his life, his baby, his family, but he just needs Cody to be his champion. They are both lucky boys. The one thing he has never had that he wants is a brother.
His goal last year was for him to face Roman Reigns for the title, and they had to push Cody Rhodes aside, as it was best for business. Cody told them he wasn’t doing it, and he stood up to The Rock. He slapped him, and no one does that and gets away with it. That is why he is special, and that is why he is champion. He doesn’t need him to answer it tonight. Go home and talk to his wife and they will meet again at the Elimination Chamber. The one thing he wants more in the world is that championship. No Cody, The Rock wants his soul. As Rock walks away, Cody Rhodes seems confused and unsure what to do.
#4. [WWE Tag Team Championship] DIY (c) vs. Pretty Deadly – Winners: No Contest after Street Profits’ interference
Motor City Machine Guns show up to take it to Street Profits, but they too are taken out.
#5. Damian Priest & Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu (w/ Tama Tonga) – Winners: Priest & Strowman
