We bring you coverage for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on September 13, 2024. Missed RAW? You can find the results here.

Triple H says he remembers being on the first episode of this show. 25 years ago when he faced The Rock. And there is no better place to be than right here, sold out in Seattle, Washington. There is no better way to start this off than a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship inside a steel cage! Are you ready?! Welcome to SmackDown!

#1. [WWE Undisputed Championship in a Steel Cage] Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa – Winner: Cody Rhodes retains

The rest of The Bloodline shows up. While they climb the cage, Solo Sikoa hits Rhodes with the Samoan Spike. Just as it looks like Jacob Fatu will finish off the champion with a high spot from the top of the cage, Roman Reigns returns! He enters the steel cage and closes the door behind him. After some back-and-forth in the advantage, Cody Rhodes recovers to team with Roman Reigns to take them out.

#2. Piper Niven (w/ Chelsea Green) vs. Michin – Winner: Michin

The heels attack Michin after the match. Green drops her on to a trash can with an Unprettier.

We see cameos from Rob Van Dam, Vickie Guerrero, and Gunther with Ludwig Kaiser.

Kevin Owens introduces his mystery tag team partner. As his actual partner could not make it, he had to ask a random jobber called Ricky to join him. Just as they are about to start the match, Owens is told that his partner is here after all. He stuns Ricky just before Randy Orton’s music plays.

#3. Kevin Owens & Randy Orton vs. A-Town Down Under – Winners: Owens & Orton

Nick Aldis says he has drawn up a contract for Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa to take on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. As he says that, Cody Rhodes walks in to tell him he is done with The Bloodline, and they are now Roman Reigns’ problem, so he will not be signing that contract. Nick Aldis needs to talk to Reigns.

We get more cameos. This time we see Booker T, Sharmell, Sheamus, and Michael P.S. Hayes in the crowd.

Nia Jax walks to the ring and is given a microphone. Everyone in the locker room fears her, and all the women have good reason to. She will be defending her title at Bad Blood, and she doesn’t care who her opponent is, because they will all meet the same fat. Nia Jax is going to annihilate them. Bayley’s here. She wants her rematch. Nia says she is no position to demand anything from her. She runs this division now.

Bayley questions where she stands with Tiffany Stratton, seeing as she had her help at WrestleMania. Tiffany interrupts her. She says Bayley is jealous that she doesn’t have Money In The Bank and has to ask for opportunities like a peasant. Tiffany accidentally says that Nia cost her the match last week. Nia Jax doesn’t take the bait, though. Naomi is here to back up Bayley.

She isn’t going to let them attack her friend. Naomi says it has been a while since she has held a title, so it is about time she does it again. Why doesn’t Nia put her money where her big fat mouth is and put it on the line? Nia Jax suggests something more interesting. They can have a tag match next week, and whoever gets the win can face her at Bad Blood. When they lose, whoever loses has to leave SmackDown permanently.

Nick Aldis lets us know that Roman Reigns will address the main event after the next match.

We get more cameos. This time from Ron Simmons, Teddy Long, William Regal, Bobby Roode, and Damian Priest!

#4. Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade – Winner: Andrade

LA Knight wants to talk to ya, yeah! He congratulates Andrade. He is the next to challenge for the US title. He hopes he feels all the jingles and tingles, because he just won the grand prize. A first class ticket to getting dropped on his head by the man they call the mega star. When he has figured out where he is, it won’t be hard to figure out whose game this is, with everybody saying… LA Knight, yeah!

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are happy to be here. Nia Jax pops in to remind them that she beat them before, and while they are on SmackDown, this is her kingdom.

Roman Reigns is here to close the show with Nick Aldis. The OTC wants Aldis to give him t he microphone. He doesn’t want to confuse anyone. Something’s change, but not him. He doesn’t need Aldis, or some contract, because this is Bloodline business. He certainly doesn’t need help from Cody Rhodes. Whether he has the ula fala or not, he is the Tribal Chief. Reigns says he is the only Tribal Chief. Never get it confused that this is his ring, his show, and his WWE. Cody Rhodes interrupts him.

Cody Rhodes quotes Reigns. His ring. His WWE. Well, it was. But it hasn’t been since WrestleMania. Each of them throw down their microphones. And of course, The Bloodline are here to confront them. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa blindside Reigns and Rhodes, but they are no match. Reigns picks up the contract and signs it. Rhodes reluctantly holds out his hand, and Reigns reluctantly hands the contract over. The champion signs it and makes it official. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood.
