Impact Wrestling Results (6/16/2022)
#1. Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans vs. Jordynne Grace & Mia Yim — Winners: Steelz & Evans
– It looks like Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazzo are going to work together at Slammiversary, but there can only be one Queen of the Mountain. Speaking of which, Mickie James will be the enforcer for that match.
– Wes Brisco and Garett Bischoff are back in Impact. They say their time with the Aces N- Eights was the greatest time of his life and there were plenty of opportunities to work with the best. Honor No More interrupts their interview and insults them for being outdated and only relevant because of Garett’s daddy.
It quickly devolves and security has to step in to separate them. D’Lo Brown tells them to calm down, this isn’t how it goes down anymore. Brisco says he’s gone all corporate on us. Remember what it was like to be one of the boys? Make something happen. D’Lo says he can go ask D’Amore for that match right now.
#2. Trey Miguel vs. ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey — Winner: Trey Miguel
Sami Callihan is challenging Moose to a Monster’s Ball match at Slammiversary.
#3. Masha Slamovich vs. Alisha — Winner: Masha Slamovich
– Taya Valkyrie meets up with Rosemary and apologizes for invading her space. They will be going after the tag team titles soon. She knows they can take out The Influence, and then they can save Havok. It’s sweet to see these two reunited.
#4. Bullet Club’s Jay White & Chris Bey (w/ Hikuleo & The Good Brothers) vs. The Briscoes — Winners: The Briscoes
It looks like D’Lo Brown is back with the Aces N’ Eights. You don’t walk alone.
Nick Aldis has been added to the tag team match against Honor No More at Slammiversary.
#5. Honor No More’s Vincent & Kenny King (w/ Eddie Edwards) vs. Aces N’ Eight’s Garett Bischoff & Wes Brisco (w/ D’Lo Brown) — Winners: Honor No More
After the match, Honor No More looks to take out D’Lo, but he fights back and hits Sky High. He goes for Lo-Down, but the rest of Honor No More show up to stop him. Motor City Machine Guns & Frankie Kazarian make the save.
Contract Signing
Josh Alexander and Eric Young are set for a contract signing ahead of their Impact World Heavyweight Championship match at Slammiversary. Scott D’Amore welcomes us to the Impact Zone. In three days, we celebrate 20 years of Impact Wrestling. And he can’t think of a more fitting main event than this.
The challenger has more history in this company than anyone, while the champion could lead them into a new era. Without further ado, let’s bring them out. Eric Young enters with Violent By Design, followed by Josh Alexander.
Eric Young doesn’t care about the history of Slammiversary being a celebration. He cares about one thing, he cares about himself, the future, and him becoming the World Champion. And he wants Josh Alexander to sign the contract first. Josh can’t believe Eric doesn’t care about the history of the company.
He started as a fan like everyone here, so when he turned on his TV and saw Impact, one that he wanted to be a part of. Impact is why 8 years ago when he had a broken neck, he fought back to live his dream of becoming Impact World Champion. He owes everything to Impact, and so does Eric.
He doesn’t see a better way to celebrate than kicking his ass. Josh signs the contract. Eric says that was cute, with all the pandering. He sat right there and said the same words to these people, and it was a lie. Josh is lying to himself, and them. The truth is he’s nothing like them. He is a thousand times better than they will ever be.
The fans will judge them and give ratings when their opinion doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter, because the truth is this. He is the man who rides the razor-thin line between chaos and order. Design is the order. And chaos, chaos can be beautiful. Chaos can be violent. And come Slammiversary, he will open Josh’s eyes open to the truth.
EY tells Scott D’Amore to leave right now. He has something to say to Josh alone. The champion doesn’t believe he wants to talk to him alone. Eric thinks he’s getting nervous because his family has his back. The only people who care for him have his back, while he’s alone and scared. Josh isn’t scared, and he asks Eric if he’s confused.
He has the company’s history on his back. He walks in with the company watching his back. Guys and Knockouts who built their careers here. Abyss. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe. Gail Kim. Rhino. The list goes on and on. They are loved around the world because of Impact, and he should be able to name Eric with them.
When he started in 2005, he heard the best guy to come from Canada was “Showtime” Eric Young. He watched him since day 1. The same Eric Young who came out night after night, and got fans chanting “don’t fire Eric”. He’s wasting his breath, but the truth is, that Eric Young he grew to love and inspired him to be a wrestler, he would be disgusted to see what he has become now.
That fires Eric up and he takes a shot at Josh. Scott tries to stop him. Deaner looks like jumping Scott, so he fires a shot at him. Eric hits Scott from behind, and the carnage ensues. Joe Doering starts taking the ring apart to get the hook from the turnbuckle.
Eric Young uses the hook on Josh Alexander. They rip the mat up to expose the wooden canvas. They choke the bloodied champion. Young gets Alexander and hits the piledriver on the exposed wood! And that ends the go-home show to Slammiversary. Thanks for joining us.
